The reputable WINE Magazine panel rated Cabernet Sauvignon wines from across South Africa in March 2009.

The results were published in the April 2009 issue: Number of wines submitted - 137 Five Stars awarded - 0 Four and a Half stars - 0 Four Stars 11, including Vertex Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve 2007 The panel's average rating for this wine was 16 out of 20. This rating describes the wine as "Excellent - Wine of Distinction". Tasting Notes: "Cassis and vanilla on the nose. Full bodied with ripe fruit and chunky tannins. Drink now or over 3 years." A concentrated wine with a deep red colour, presents flavours of ripe plums, spices and hints of vanilla sweetness. On the palate it shows dark fruits combined with well balanced oak.
